Product sampling with a digital, comedic twist.

Studying for exams can be super stressful. Long days that turn into long nights with books and notes. It’s easy to forget to have some fun in the midst of it all. Since we couldn’t take their tests for them, we decided to give student across the US something different to help them nail their exams. So together with Dexter, we launched Red Bull Study Buddy. A “motivational speaker bot” that lives inside Facebook Messenger.

Motivation.

To give students a boost in their study sessions, our bot asks them what kind of motivation they are in the need for. And depending on what they choose, they are served weird and wonderful content, playlists to get them into study mood, fun quizzes and more.

Product Sampling.

Product sampling is essential to Red Bull. So we decided to reward the students that really took their time to interact with our bot with something more than awesome content. After a few short interactions, the bot will offer a coupon for a Red Bull can redemption at their closest 7-Eleven.

Bot on Campus.

To make sure students knew that the bot existed, and to play with the notion of it being a real study buddy. We created tear-off posters on campus, from the bot, telling students how and why they should connect with it during exam periods.
